Taekwondo Kang Wan-jin and Lee Ju-young confirmed as certified Poomsae players at the Asian Championships

2022 Hangzhou Asian Games gold medalist Kang Wan-jin (Hongcheon-gun Office) and promising prospect Ju-young Lee (Korea National Sport University) were confirmed as certified Poomsae participants at the 2024 Taekwondo Asian Poomsae Championships .Kang Wan-jin took first place in the certified Poomsae men’s under-30 category at the Asian Championships selection event held at the Taebaek Gowon Gymnasium in Gangwon-do on the 24th, and Joo-young Lee won the women’s under-30 category. The two players will participate in the Asian Poomsae Championships to be held in Danang, Vietnam in May. In free poomsae, Kim Seong-jin (Yongin University) in the men’s division and Jeong Ha-eun (Pocheon City Hall) in the women’s division took first place.

In the free poomsae doubles event, Yoon Gyu-seong (Korea National Sport University) and Cha Ye-eun (Kyung Hee University), who took second place in the individual event, earned the right to participate .Meanwhile, in the qualifying round for the World Poomsae Championships, Lim Kwon-woo (Kyung Hee University) and Joo-young Lee won the certified Poomsae men’s and women’s under-30 divisions, respectively .Jeon Min-hyuk (Samil Technical High School) and Jang Han-sol (Hamhyeon High School) took first place in the free poomsae selection for men and women under 17 years old, and Lee Jin-ho (Kyung Hee University) and Jeong Ha-eun took first place in the men’s and women’s over 17 year old divisions .Athletes ranked 1st to 8th in the World Poomsae Championships selection competition are scheduled to compete in the final selection in July.The World Poomsae Championships will be held in Hong Kong in 메이저 November.
