Baseball’s Hanwha hires defensive coach Kim Woo-seok for 3-day final camp in Japan

Hanwha Eagles players celebrate their team’s eighth consecutive win with a 10-4 victory during the baseball game between the Hanwha Eagles and Samsung Lions in the ‘Shinhan Bank SOL 2023 KBO League’ at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on July 1.

The Hanwha Eagles announced on July 2 that they have hired former Doosan Bears coach Kim Woo-seok as their first team defense coach.

Kim graduated from Incheon High School and Hongik University before playing for the LG Twins and Samsung Lions.

After his retirement, he began his coaching career as a coach at Chunghun High School and served as a defensive coach at LG from 2014 to 2022, working with the residual, futures, and first teams.

In the 2023 season, he became the second team defense coach at Doosan.

Hanwha hopes that Kim’s know-how will improve the team’s defense.

Kim will join the team for the final training camp in Miyazaki, Japan, on March 3.

Hanwha also hired four new coaches during the offseason: Jung Kyung-bae, Kim Jae-gul, Park Jae-sang, and Kim Woo-seok. 스포츠토토맨
