KOREA WOMEN’S HANDBALL DEFEATS THAILAND BY 31 GOALS TO REACH QUARTERFINALS

The Korean women’s handball team cruised to its third consecutive Asian Games title. Led by head coach Henrik Signell (SWE), the Koreans defeated Thailand 45-14 in the second match of the Women’s Handball Pool A at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games on Sunday at Xiaoshan Gymnasium of Zhejiang Normal University in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. With the two wins, Korea secured a spot in the quarterfinals alongside Kazakhstan. Korea, winners of the 2014 Incheon and 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, will play Kazakhstan in their third pool match on Tuesday. South Korea cruised to a comfortable victory over an inferior Thailand team, with Shin Eun-joo (Incheon City Hall) scoring 10 goals on her own and Ryu Eun-hee (Gyori, Hungary) chipping in with four .The men’s team, however, lost 27-31 against Qatar to finish second in the group and advance to the final.
