Hanwha ‘Super Rookie’ Kim Seo-hyun returns to first team after 63 days debut was rained out

Super rookie Kim Seo-hyun (19) of the Hanwha Eagles returned to the first team after more than two months. However, 섯다 his scheduled debut as a starting pitcher was postponed due to rain.

Hanwha registered Kim Seo-hyun in the first team ahead of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League game against KT Wiz at Katie Wiz Park in Suwon on Tuesday.

Kim Seo-hyun’s first-team roster spot was already scheduled. Hanwha announced Seo-hyun as the starting pitcher for the game after the KT game the previous day (Sept. 9).

Selected by Hanwha with the No. 1 overall pick in last year’s rookie draft, Kim started the season as a bullpen pitcher. This was because he was able to utilize his fastball, which was in the high 150 kilometers per hour range, and his determination was strong.

However, the results weren’t great. He pitched 17⅔ innings in 18 games, going winless with one save and a 5.60 ERA. He struck out 23 batters but gave up 18 walks.

As a result, Hanwha sent Kim down to the second team on June 8 to receive pitching lessons.

After steadily increasing his innings and pitches, Kim returned to the first team roster after 63 days on the disabled list.

However, his debut as a first-team starter was delayed. The game between Hanwha and KT in Suwon was also rained out as the entire country was under the influence of a typhoon. Han Seung-hyuk will start against the Doosan Bears in Daejeon on Nov. 11.

“Regardless of whether the game is rained out or not, we will register Kim Seo-hyun in the first team,” 온라인섯다 said Hanwha manager Choi Won-ho. “If he is unable to start, we will send him to the bullpen a few times until the next rotation,” he said.

As a result, Kim will be pitching in the bullpen for the time being to get a feel for the game.

Hanwha sent outfielder Kwon Kwang-min to the second team in place of Kim Seo-hyun.

The KIA Tigers, whose home game against the LG Twins was canceled, added infielders Hwang Dae-in and Choi Jeong-yong to the first team.

Hwang Dae-in, who was sidelined last month with a right hamstring injury, returned to the first team after 33 days on the disabled list.

KIA removed outfielder Kim Ho-ryung and pitcher Yoon Jung-hyun from the roster.

The Doosan Bears called up infielder Ahn Jae-seok and pitcher Lee Yong-jun from the NC Dinos, while Lotte Giants pitcher Choi Young-hwan, Kiwoom Heroes pitcher Yang Ji-yul and catcher Kim Xiang were also on the first team.

Instead, Doosan infielder Lee Yoo-chan, NC pitcher Han Jae-seung, Lotte pitcher Choi Yi-jun, 고스톱 and Kiwoom pitcher Joo Seung-woo were dropped to the second team.
