South Korea A-Match opponents Zambia and Haiti draw 1-1 in Women’s World Cup first leg

Zambia lose 0-5 to South Korea, also lose 0-5 to Japan
Knocked out by Haiti, England in Korea qualifier

Zambia and Haiti suffered back-to-back defeats in their first World Cup matches ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia-New Zealand 2023.

The Zambians fell to a 0-5 defeat against Japan in their Group C opener at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton, New Zealand, on Sunday (Sept. 22).

The Zambians were helpless in the loss, conceding consecutive goals from Japan’s Miyazawa (2), Tanaka, Endo, and Ueki.

Zambia had previously lost 2-5 and 0-5 in a two-game series against South Korea in April.

Haiti, who played an A match against South Korea (2-1) at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on April 8, just before the tournament opened, also lost in the first leg.

Earlier in the day, Haiti fell 0-1 to powerhouse England in their first Group D match at Lang Park Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.

Haiti couldn’t find the equalizer after conceding a penalty kick to England’s Stanway.

Earlier in Group E, the United States won 3-0 against Vietnam. 스포츠토토 Sophia Smith scored two goals and Lindsey Horan added one.
