Kim Min-ji, runner-up at the Asia Junior Championship

South Korean badminton hopeful Kim Min-ji (second year, Chiaak High School, Wonju) won a silver medal at the 2023 Asian Junior Championships.

Kim lost 0-2 (11-21 17-21) to Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari (Puspitasari-Indonesia) in the women’s singles final of the tournament in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, on April 16.

Earlier, twin sister Kim Min-sun (Chiaak High School, Wonju, South Korea) also faced Puspitasari in the round of 16 of the women’s singles and lost 0-2.

In total, the Korean junior badminton team won two silver and two bronze medals at the tournament, including Kim Min-ji’s silver in the women’s singles.

The women’s doubles team of Park Seul (Yeongdeok High School, 3 years) and Yeon Seo-yeon (Hwasun High School, 2 years) fell 1-2 (19-21 21-14 21-23) to Nao Mei-Yamakita from Japan’s capital city.

The mixed doubles pairs of Lee Min-wook (Jeju Sadaebu High School 3)-Cheon Hye-in (Jeonju Seongshim Young High School 1) and Park Bum-soo (Dangjin Jeonggyo High School 3)-Yeon Seo-yeon (Hwasun High School 2) finished third. 토토사이트
