In May, the Korean Basketball League (KBL) kicked off its free agency season with a bang.
On May 7, the KBL announced a total of 46 players who will be eligible for free agency in 2024.
DB has the most players with seven, followed by SONO and KOGAS with six, and Samsung, SK, LG, KCC, and KT with four each. Jungkwanjang and Hyundai Mobis 토토사이트 추천 have three each.
Notably, the roster includes captain Kang Sang-jae, who led Wonju DB to the top spot in the regular season. Kang led the team this season, averaging 14 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game, making him the best performer on the team among native players other than mercenaries.
However, Kang Sang-jae is the team’s most iconic player, and despite being declared a free agent, he is expected to re-sign with the team.
Other free agents include DB’s Kim Jong-kyu, Jeonggwanjang Anyang’s Park Ji-hoon, and Changwon LG’s Lee Jae-do. In addition, Lee Dae-sung of Japan’s B.LEAGUE Seahorses Mikawa was added to the list.
The free agents will have 15 days from May 7 (Tuesday) to 21 (Tuesday) to negotiate with 10 clubs, including the original clubs.
Players who fail to sign a contract during the free agency period will receive letters of intent from Wednesday, May 22 to Friday, May 24. If a free agent player receives an offer from more than one club, he can choose the club regardless of the amount of the offer.
If they receive an offer from a single club, they must sign with that club. Free agents who have not signed a contract by this time will be able to renegotiate with their original clubs from Saturday, May 25 to Tuesday, May 28.
Meanwhile, a free agency briefing session will be held on Wednesday, August 8 at 2 p.m. in the KBL Center’s 5th floor training room for prospective free agents.
