Kim, who was capped in 2005, led South Korea’s women’s volleyball team through its heyday as the mainstay of the national team.

Kim announced her retirement from the national team after the Tokyo Games, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she was unable to hold an official retirement ceremony.
