First Half Finale Ends with Bench Clearing…NC Sweeps SSG

The NC Dinos of professional baseball wrapped up the first half of the season with a thrilling late-game victory. The victory was made all the sweeter by a bench-clearing during the game.

NC won 2-0 at home against SSG Landers at Changwon NC Park on Thursday, thanks to Matt Davidson’s walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the 12th inning. This was the second win in the three-game series (the first game was canceled due to rain), and the team finished the first half of the season on a high note.

NC is now an impressive 9-1 in 10 games this season, including a recent three-game sweep of SSG. The victory also boosted their hopes of a top-five fight in the second half of the season, as they are tied for sixth place with fifth-place SSG without a win.

Davidson was the MVP of the night as the nemesis continued. With the bases loaded and no outs in the 12th inning, Davidson hit a two-run home run to left field off Lee. Davidson, who leads the league in home runs this season, extended his lead over second-place Kim Do-young of the KIA Tigers (23) to three with his 26th.

The game was a tight pitcher’s duel. NC starter Kyle Hart was solid on the mound, throwing 92 pitches over seven innings, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out seven. SSG Kwang-hyun Kim also pitched seven innings of two-hit ball, striking out four and walking none.

In the eighth inning, NC and SSG’s relievers pitched relays to extend the game. In the process, an unexpected bench clearing occurred.

It all started in the 10th inning on SSG’s defense. Drew Anderson, who has been a starter this season, made a surprise appearance and struck out the leadoff batter, Kim Sung-wook, before suddenly raising his voice in an angry tone. For some reason, NC Heart and Daniel Castano responded in kind, and an argument ensued.

Anderson pitched a scoreless 10th inning, but a bench-clearing incident occurred during the offensive exchange, with SSG and NC players coming 먹튀검증업체 순위 out onto the field. SSG coach Lee Sung-yong and NC coach Kang In-hwon came out to settle the nerves.

After the dust settled, the game resumed, and SSG failed to score in the top of the 12th, giving NC one last chance. The leadoff hitter, Park Gun-woo, hit a grounder that SSG second baseman Park Ji-hwan missed, putting runners on first and second with no outs, and Davidson hit a huge two-run home run to left field to end the game.

In Daegu, Kia defeated the Samsung Lions 8-3 to sweep the three-game series. Samsung has lost five straight. In Jamsil, the Doosan Bears defeated the Lotte Giants 6-3.

In Daejeon, the Hanwha Eagles defeated the KT Wiz 13-5, while the LG Twins defeated the Kiwoom Heroes 3-2 in Gocheok to snap their opponent’s seven-game winning streak.
